Dear Parents,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well. As the head coach of Watseka football, I am reaching out to you, not only as a parent of a student in our district, but as an essential partner in preserving one of our community’s proudest traditions – our football program.
Watseka football is built on more than just wins and losses; it’s a program dedicated to Building Men –boldly leading, serving others, and demonstrating integrity at all times – values that transcend the game and build character for life. These principles guide everything we do, helping our young athletes grow into confident leaders who serve their families, schools, and communities.
Unfortunately, we’ve seen a decline in the number of young men participating in football in recent years. This trend not only impacts the team’s success but also limits the opportunities for students to learn the life lessons and personal growth that come from being part of a football family.
As parents, your influence is crucial. I am asking for your help in encouraging your son to consider joining Watseka football. Being part of our team means more than playing a sport – it means learning how to overcome challenges, build strong relationships, and hold oneself and others accountable. These are lessons that will serve him for a lifetime, no matter where his journey leads.
Football teaches toughness, not just physical, but mental and emotional resilience. It instills enthusiasm, the passion for working toward a common goal with teammates who become like brothers. It requires accountability, showing up for oneself and others, even when it’s hard. And it helps shape boys into young men of integrity, who understand the value of discipline, hard work, and commitment.
We recognize that joining the football team is a significant decision, and I’d love to talk with you or your son if there are questions or concerns about playing football. Whether he’s never played before or has been on the field for years, there is a place for him here, and we’d be honored to have him join our family.
Thank you for being the foundation of our community and for considering this opportunity for your son. Together, we can ensure that the legacy of Watseka football and the core values we teach continue to inspire and guide the young men of our district. If you have questions or would like to discuss the program further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
