The Newton County Commissioners, Glen Cain, Abbey Rossiter, and Kyle Conrad, wish to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Newton County Sheriff’s Corporal Brandon Schreiber, who died September 11, 2024 from injuries sustained on September 1st while serving his county.
We also wish to extend our sympathies to our sheriff’s department and all of Corporal Schreiber’s law enforcement, jail, and dispatch co-workers, as well as all of our county’s first responders in fire, EMS, and EMA during this difficult time, as stated in a press release.
And lastly, we wish to thank our Newton County and surrounding community for the outpouring of support for Corporal Schreiber, his family, and his brothers and sisters in law
enforcement during the past several days. We are privileged to be a part of such a wonderful, caring community. We will endeavor to be at the ready to assist Corporal Schreiber’s family and our sheriff’s department in any way necessary, and will ensure that his sacrifice is appropriately honored and remembered for generations to come.
