Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger and Purdue University Ag economist Dr. Michael Langmeier presented some thoughts on the agriculture economy in Watseka Wednesday evening. They were guests at the annual “Ag Day” presented by the First Trust & Savings Bank in Watseka. Bank president Kerry Bell says it's about celebrating farm families, "we want to recognize the roles our farmers play in the community."
Dr. Langmeier said the challenges on the farm this year leaves a lot of questions about next year too. Congressman Kinzinger says the ag economy is so important to open trade doors. The congressman said the message delivered, though, has to be consistent.
The public is invited out to the bank’s parking lot on Walnut Street for some fun and food today (Thursday).
