The Livingston County Coroner’s Office announces the investigation of an inmate's death at the Pontiac Correctional Center.  Emergency responders were dispatched about 5:29 pm Sunday to the prison’s north cell house after an inmate was discovered unresponsive in his cell. Efforts to administer aid were attempted, but the inmate was pronounced dead at 6:07 pm. The  Coroner's Office identified the inmate as  29-year-old Patrick Vaughn of Pontiac.

The Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Pontiac Correctional Center officials and Illinois State Police crime scene services are jointly investigating the death. Authorities said no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for today 12/30.
