Vermilion County losing 40 jobs in Nursing Home Sale >

The Vermilion Manor Nursing Home has a new owner today. And as Vermilion County officially gets out of the nursing home business nearly 40 employees of the nursing home at Tilton are losing their jobs.

Vermilion County Board Chairman Gary Weinard said he was surprised how many workers are to be displaced. The sale negotiations focused on preserving jobs and keeping the facility operating as a nursing home.

Skokie, Illinois based FNR Healthcare Group has taken over operation of what is now known as Gardenview Manor. FNR is partnering with Premier Healthcare Management in the venture.
Weinard says those who are losing their jobs will get some help from the County.

Weinard adds the new owners are promising to make some improvements at the former Vermilion Manor.

Despite the job losses, Weinard says there are many positive things about the sale of the nursing home .
