Warm, muggy weather today in central-Illinois and central sections of Indiana could result in stormy weather, most likely later this afternoon and into the night.
The cool and wet start to spring now finds summer moving in quickly. Windstorms could accompany heavy rain and T-storms.
The temperature is expected to reach 91 degrees Wednesday in Central Illinois, and high humidity will make it feel like the upper 90s or maybe even 100 degrees. Meteorologist Chris Geelhart says "It's ahead of a cold front that will come through Wednesday evening."
The mixture also is expected to bring a chance of some strong storms with damaging winds Wednesday, he said. The storms are expected to start in northwestern Illinois and be in the central Illinois area by 1-2 pm.
The threat for stormy weather will continue through the nighttime hours.
