Hoopeston Police need the public's help in their investigation of a stabbing incident last Thursday.
A 32-year-old Watseka man was the victim. Police report the unidentified Watseka man arrived at Hoopeston Community Hospital Emergency Room seeking treatment for numerous stab wounds. The wounds were to the man's face, neck and upper body.
The victim told police he thought he was walking in the 800 to 1000 block of North Market Street in Hoopeston when three white males exited an older model blue vehicle and struck him in the head. The blow caused the man to lose consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, the victim was covered in blood and discovered he had been stabbed several times. He was taken to Hoopeston Community Hospital by an unknown person and was later transferred to Carle Hospital in Urbana.
