KANKAKEE -- A fifty-mile trek Saturday along the Kankakee and Iroquois rivers helped raise scholarship money for agriculture and horticulture studies at Kankakee Community College (KCC).
Tractor enthusiasts from across the Illiana area paraded their vintage tractors during the bi-annual “Ride the River” Vintage Tractor Ride. The event is a partnership between KCC, the KCC Foundation, and the Central Illinois Green Club.
Green Club member and KCC Foundation Board member John Fulton says “it’s all for a great cause…helping future generations of farmers while allowing tractor enthusiasts to show off their pride and joy while enjoying the beautiful scenery along the rivers.”
The scholarship will help two students attend college this fall.
