The Illinois and Indiana State Police encourage citizens to take advantage of the DEA Drug Take-Back program Saturday. The Drug Enforcement Administration cooperates with local law enforcement in colllecting unused, unwanted and outdated prescription meds. The initiative is about safely disposing of ou-dated medications. Department of Public Health officials ask that everyone use the day to clean out medicine cabinets at home.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, October 28th. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and various local organizations are hosting events around the state to collect tablets, capsules, patches and other forms of prescription medication that may be outdated or are no longer needed. Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps and illicit drugs. Most collections times are from 10 am 'til 2 pm.
