Earl Park House Fire, Man & Dog Rescued

Firefighters and Indiana State troopers managed to enter a burning home where they rescued a man and a dog. The late-morning fire Friday was in the 300-block of South Chestnut Street in Earl Park, IN.

The Troopers and firefighters managed to break down the door, finding the occupant who lived there unconscious on the floor in the back of the home. The dog was also rescued from the residence. No word on the condition of the man rescued. He was flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Benton County fire officials have not released any information about a cause. The Indiana State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
