Fire crews responded to a wild corn field fire Tuesday in Bourbonnais. Despite pleas from fire officials to avoid burning due to high winds, fast-spreading flames engulfed the corn field forcing traffic reroutes and visibility problems. No injuries were reported.
Warm temperatures and a southwest wind reached 25-30 mph. Even with showers in the forecast, the winds are expected to continue tonight, Wednesday and into Thursday.
