The public is invited to a Unit 9 school district planning meeting next Thursday (June 27) to hear about potential options that may be pursued to improve the building facilities at the elementary level.
A 5 pm meeting is planned at the Unit Nine Office, west of Watseka on Route 24. The citizens can hear a brief presentation by a team of people conducting the study. An architectural firm will partner with the school board in a three-phase approach.
The team will focus on ways to find funding assistance from state and federal agencies. Community input will also be welcome to find options in addressing local needs, which may include the potential replacement of elementary building s. If necessary, a third phase of the study will be a search for any available state and federal funding and possible bond referendum assistance.
Questions and answers will be part of the June 27 meeting.
