Vermilion County Fair set to open Wednesday; new queen to be crowned

The Vermilion County Fair opens this week. Queen pageants will be popular Wednesday evening. Festivities begin at 6 pm in the grandstand. Nine candidates are vying for the Fair Queen crown. Reigning queen Meghan Brown will crown her successor. Five other young ladies will seek the Junior Miss crown. There’s also pageants for Little Miss and Young Miss.

Grandstand admission for the pageants will be $5 for adults and $2 for children 10 years of age and younger. The Vermilion County Fair will run from Wednesday through Sunday at the fairgrounds located between Danville and Oakwood just off of U.S. Route 150. The week-long event includes Stadium Motocross, Truck & Tractor Pull and the Demolition Derby.
