A barn fire in rural Manteno (early Tuesday) killed four horses. The fire was 4200 E and 10,000 N. No other injury was reported. The cause was under investigation.

A house fire in Kankakee Tuesday morning displaced three people. One adult and 2 children are getting help from the Red Cross. The fire in the 400-block of N. Greenwood Avenue alerted foremen from K3, Bradley and Limestone. No injury reported.

In Vermilion County ---a Westville house fire this (Wed) morning sent a woman to the hospital with smoke inhalation. There was no other injury. Westville Fire reported a modular home was engulfed when they arrived at 2:45 am. Mutual aid came from Catlin, Tilton, Lynch and G-town.
