Search for man, dog presumed drowned in Kankakee River resumes

The search for a man and a dog presumed drowned in the Kankakee River is continuing. Conservation Police reported two men and the dog were fishing Saturday when the boat they were all in capsized after hitting a logjam. One of the men made it to safety.

The incident happened near the Illinois-Indiana state line. The search was suspended Sunday due to the swift current.

Momence fire crews and other emergency responders were at the scene. Conservation officers from Illinois and Indiana are also involved in the search.
